FDN - Find Double Nodes

It is vital to set up the Analytical Model properly in order to carry out FE analysis correctly. While building the structural model, precision issues or inaccurate analytical modeling may introduce some errors such as analytical nodes not connected to each other.

Analytical elements that have nodes which are too close in geometry but in fact not connected will cause problems in many steps of structural analysis. Such as occurrence of finite elements which are very small, auto meshing process not converging resulting in incoherent mesh, incorrect stiffness matrix and wrong results and many more...

Finding the unconnected nodes manually becomes a huge deal for a structural engineer. Analysis software (Robot Structural Analysis, Sap2000, Etabs, Staad Pro etc.) may provide tools to remedy this but consume considerable time and effort. It is better to find the problem on the main Autodesk® Revit® model before sending to analysis.

We solved this problem. FDN - Find Double Nodes application for Revit enables structural engineers to find nodes that are close to each other but not connected in the analytical model of a building. FDN shows unconnected nodes found within the given margin and user may isolate then zoom into the selected nodal area.

FDN will remove the hassle of manually checking the connectivity of each node, and save your precious time. By listing the unconnected nodes, you can now correct those nodes before sending your model to analysis. Especially in larger models where it is hard to see the connectivity, FDN will save your time and show those nodes flawlessly.

Free Family Editor Interface Add-in

Family Editor Interface is a simple tool which gives a more interactive way of creating or editing Family Content. It gives a more visual control over the Family Bone-Muscle-Skin paradigm through manipulating the existing parameters within the Family Editor. Only usable in Family Editor Mode, it will allow the user to change parameter values on the fly, thus receiving immediate feedback on their actions.

The tool will detect when new parameters are added to the Family Types dialog and has additional 'Refresh Document' button to detect when new parameters are added on the fly. 'Refresh Document' is also useful when toggling between several different Family Projects.

Free ArchiCAD Object Replacer Add-in for Revit

Autodesk® Revit® converts each Archicad object into a separate in-place family. This means they cannot be selected as a group and replaced. e.g. you can’t use “Select All Instances”. So finding and replacing each one becomes time consuming.
This utility will match and select all of the in-place family instances in the model on any level and replace with a selected Revit family.

Finds matching In-Place objects and works out their orientation so they can be replaced with a Revit family type.

Collaborative Library Sharing

This release includes the exciting capability, previously only available in beta, to share libraries between companies! UNIFI is the only content solution to enable collaborative workflows for not just individual companies, but between those companies and their consultants.  Libraries may be shared through our web portal here. Copy Similar Add-in

From the Autodesk App Store...

"Copy Similar" will copy and paste model elements while placing them on the same "Workset", “Phase Created”, and “Phase Demolished” as the original elements. "Copy Similar" works in floor plans, ceiling plans, elevations, and 3D views.

Select one or more model elements and run “Copy Similar”. The program will then prompt the user to select a base point, and an insertion point. Pasted elements will be shifted by the distance between the two points.

Each pasted element will be set to the same Phase Created, Phase Demolished, and Workset as its corresponding source element. Very handy for working in demolition plans where pasted elements normally disappear because they are automatically moved to the New Construction Phase.

You can also assign keystrokes to run "Copy Similar".

This is a trial version, and will expire September 1st, 2016.
