CTC Software Releases Nexus Suite – Includes Ally, a Guardian Competitor

CTC Software has released a new collection of tools named Nexus Suite. It contains Ally, a new apparent competitor to the well-established Guardian. It also contains PAL (Project Activity Logger), which is used to visualize how users work in Revit models. Lastly, it contains CMS (Content Management System), formerly known as Hive. I've no idea why they changed the name, Hive was so much better than a simple acronym. 

Nexus Suite is a seeming bargain, starting at USD 135.00/user/year. Volume discounts apply.

TimeTracker – Track the Time Spent in Revit Projects

Time Tracker is an application compatible with Autodesk® Revit® program, easily tracking the time spent on each of your projects in a created txt file. Turn it on once when you start working on a project and it will automatically start always when you open the project again. This tool is essential for you to keep track of your work. 

After pressing the START button in the application, Time Tracker creates a txt file in which the individual days and times spent on your project are recorded. It adds up to the total work time in the last line at the bottom. There is an option to set the length of an inactive time - the time of being inactive in your project after which the recording of your work will stop automatically and it will turn on again as soon as you start working in the Revit file (e.g. if you run for lunch). Time recording can be also stopped at any time by pressing the STOP button. You can easily find and edit or delete a TXT file.

Bird Tools - CAD Block Remapper is a FREE app by Bird Tools, that is both an Autodesk® AutoCAD® and an Autodesk® Revit® add-in: It allows the user to map families to linked CAD Blocks and would place the family instances on their correct locations.

No CAD import, nor Import Explosion are involved in the process, only CAD linking, as the CAD files are automatically processed by the AutoCAD add-in part of the app. The app also supports Autodesk Docs Cloud hosted CAD Links.
