From the Autodesk App Store:
Description
Sometimes Autodesk® Revit® can “crash” without suggesting to the user to create a recovery file. This can leave users facing a situation of emergency shutdown and loss of data. Whilst Autodesk® AutoCAD® has an auto-save feature, there is no such function in Revit.
With this plugin you can set specified intervals to auto-save, for example, you can specify an interval of auto-saving every 5 minutes and the plugin will automatically save your project every 5 minutes (completely without your participation). You can still make a “manual” file saving (the “Save” button) when you need it.
The backup files created during saving (files like “Project Name.001.rvt”) will be stored by default in the project directory. You then have an option to delete these backup files.
The plugin works with the following file types:
- Project files (RVT)
- Local copies of the central file (RVT)
- Revit Family (RFA)
- Project Template Files (RTE)
