After selecting the desired rooms and assigning a filename, Spazio exports each room as a standalone .spazio file. These files use a plain JSON format, making them portable, readable, shareable, and suitable for archiving or version control. Each package includes a 2D preview that displays the room boundary as a closed polygon and shows the relative position of furniture and other elements as dots. This preview gives designers a quick visual reference before inserting the package into the current model, reducing trial-and-error placement and helping users compare similar room types efficiently.

Placement Workflow

To reuse a room layout, the user selects a package from the library and chooses Place. With a floor plan view active, the user clicks the intended room origin point in the target model. Spazio then recreates the room boundary, places a Room element inside the closed loop, and restores furniture and fixture instances at their correct relative positions and rotations.

When possible, Spazio matches wall types by name between the source and target models. If an exact match is unavailable, the placement process falls back gracefully rather than stopping the workflow. Missing families are skipped and reported clearly in a summary dialog, allowing the user to understand what was placed successfully and what may require follow-up.
