“Do you even Chromebook, bro?” Why yes, yes I do.

Now for something completely different...

Google has put out an ad for the new Chromebooks that hilariously trolls Microsoft and Apple. In case you haven't seen it, here it is.



If you're not familiar, Chrome OS is an operating system designed by Google that is based on the Linux kernel and uses the Google Chrome web browser as its principal user interface. As a result, Chrome OS primarily supports web applications.

The first Chrome OS laptop, known as a Chromebook, arrived in May 2011.

In the early 2000s, a term frequently bandied about was "Internet appliance." In their original incarnation, Chromebooks were the purest example of this.

I vaguely remember being curious about Chromebooks when they first came out, but being turned off by the idea of doing everything in a web browser, and by the small screen sizes that were available exclusively at the time. Still, after seeing the above commercial on TV recently, I got to thinking about my current Windows laptops...
