BIM One & BuildingSP: Integration Partners for Clash Detection Workflows
August 23, 2017
By Brett Young
Our industry is built on relationships and our ability to successfully collaborate. This thinking should extend to our software. With this in mind, BIM One and BuildingSP would like to announce a partnership to integrate our clash detection and issue management products so architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) users can better leverage technology and create value for our clients.
BIM One and BuildingSP - Your technology stack for Revit-based clash detection processes. |
BIM One and BuildingSP are both companies that are working hard to innovate and improve the pre-construction process in building information modeling (BIM). BuildingSP created ClashMEP, the only real-time and dynamic clash-detection tool for Autodesk Revit. Model clashes are immediately shown to the user as they model in Revit, which results in fewer clash issues because they can be resolved immediately without leaving the Revit platform. In a single mouse click, unresolved clashes can be inserted into the BIM Track® issue management platform from BIM One! The clash is then tracked on BIM Track®, where a host of tools, including reports, metrics, and a web viewer, allow the clashes to be managed in a systematic way across users, teams, projects, and the enterprise. The combination of real-time clash detection in Revit and one-click issue tracking provides a fast and easy way to manage the clash detection process. BIM Track® also extends into Tekla and Navisworks, providing a flexible solution with a close integration into Revit.
BIM One and BuildingSP hope that our collaboration demonstrates how companies in the same software space – clash detection and issue tracking – can work together in a seamless way to provide value to our clients. Our companies could have chosen to directly compete and treat each other as adversaries. Instead, this collaboration between two innovative, like-minded AEC startups will quickly and effectively help projects and people every day and throughout the world. We hope our collaboration is an example that will be followed.
BIM One and BuildingSP are working hard on the integration now and further extending our capabilities, both together and as separate companies.
