From the IMAGINiT Technologies Support blog:
You may bump into an error running Revit 2017 with the Autodesk Seek plugin installed.
Error message:
"Revit cannot run the external application "Autodesk Seek Plugin for Revit". Contact the provider for assistance. Information they provided to Revit about their identity: Autodesk, www.autodesk.com.
System.NullReferenceException
System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
at
Autodesk.Seek.Plugin.For.Revit.ExternalApp.createRibbonButton..."
To resolve the problem:
Rename the folder RevitPlugin to 111.-RevitPlugin (or you can use a different name or even delete it):
C:\Users\<<UsersLoginName>>\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Seek\RevitPlugin
Then go into Control Panel > Programs and Features and search for Seek, select it and click Repair.
It will automatically recreate the folder, replacing a corrupted .ini file.
There's more information available on the IMAGINiT Technologies blog.

Thanks Tim. Do you know if this works for 2016 as well?
No, I don't know Jason but my guess is that it would.
