The Week that was in Revit Add-ons for March 6-12, 2017

Last week was another busy one here on Revit Add-ons as we published 21 posts.

New

From the Autodesk App Store, we updated our post about View Sets, for saving and recalling view configurations, to include information from the App Store (we'd posted about it previously with info we found on the author's website). RVT 2 DWG (DND Standard), for converting sheets to Candian DND CAD Standards compatible AutoCAD DWG files, was also released on the App Store.

From around the Internet, we posted for the first time about pyRevit, a free IronPython script library for Revit, as well as individual posting about the pyRevit Pattern Maker, pyRevit Copy/Paste Viewport placement tools, and the pyRevit print tool. Reader interest has been intense, with our post about pyRevit receiving 324 pageviews in just two days and pyRevit Pattern Maker doing even better with 521 pageviews over the same period.

Updated

On the Autodesk App Store, a few add-ins were updated. For details, please see our latest roundup.

From around the Internet, we posted about BIMsmith adding support for creating roof system families. We also posted about UNIFI Connect, the self-styled premium destination for manufacturer content, the 3.6.2017 Release of Project Fractal, now with finer variation control, the Tetra4D 2017 Release, for creating 3D PDFs, and the new Solibri Model Viewer Pro, for sharing and collaborating with cloud-based issue management solutions.

Lastly, we posted about a couple major product update releases with tangential connections to Revit: Bluebeam Revu 2017 and Visual Studio 2017.

Miscellaneous

For the Dynamaniacs out there, we posted about using Dynamo to place door clearance bounding cubes, and a video on how to use Dynamo to create helix ramps as topography.

For do-it-yourselfers, we posted about a free Revit family browser with source code.

We posted about a preview of SimLab Composer VR Framework.

On the topic of webinars, we posted about a free webinar held on March 8, 2017 introducing UNIFI Connect, A "Premium Destination for Content", as well as the subsequent video of the event. We also posted about a free webinar held on March 9, 2017 on auditing Revit projects with Ideate Explorer.

Trendsetting

Uncharacteristically, the week saw a number of posts in and out of the top spot in our Trending top 10 list, including Ultimate Plugin Suite 1.1.0, the free DynaSlack, free Revit family browser with source code, and, lastly, the free pyRevit Pattern Maker.

Our post about BIMsmith launching a roofing tool that's free for users spent most of the week in the top 10, as did our posts about the 3.6.2017 release of Project Fractalplacing door clearance bounding cubes with Dynamo, and UpgradeBlocker, for preventing accidental upgrades and opening of central models.
