What's Hot in Revit Add-ons for January 2017

With 'What's Hot', at about the middle of each month, we take a look back at the preceding month to see which posts received the most page views.

In January, we published 63 posts.

Even though we posted about it late in the month, Metamorphosis, the free and open-source change analysis tool for Revit, received almost twice as many pageviews as any other post.

More closely grouped together followed our posts about the Autodesk Seek business being transferred to BIMobject, using Dynamo for fire exit route computation, free COBie Extension version 3.0, using Dynamo to show changes between two snapshots of a model, chatting with BIM Track's Christian Proulx, Reports (schedules for professionals), and Conductor (Trello tools for Revit).

Metamorphosis – A Free and Open-Source Revit Change Analysis Tool

Metamorphosis is composed of a Revit add-in and Dynamo script. Combined, they can be used to:
  • Generate a list of changed elements
  • Zoom to changed elements
  • Color-code changed elements
  • Generate change reports
  • and more

Autodesk Seek Business Transferred to BIMobject

BIMobject has assumed the operational responsibility of providing Autodesk Seek customers with high quality building information modeling (BIM) content services on the BIMobject Cloud.

Fire Exit Route Computation with Dynamo

A solution for creating fire safety minimum distance egress routes was posted by the Revit Beyond BIM blog.

Free COBie Extension for Revit Version 3.0 Released – Support for Linked Models Added

The extension now exports COBie information from linked models. Previous versions would only pull out data from the active model and then you would have to add the data from the second model in there on a different export.

Show Changes Between Two 'Snapshots' of a Model with Dynamo

On his Data|Shapes blog, Mostafa El Ayoubi has published nodes and workflows for Using Dynamo to identify the differences between two 'snapshots' of a Revit model.

Chatting with BIM One's Christian Proulx, BIM Track's Director of Customer Success

A while back, we had the opportunity to Skype with Christian Proulx of BIM Track. We talked about the history and story behind BIM Track and its parent company BIM One, as well as some of their future plans.

Reports – Schedules for Professionals

"The most advanced multi-page reports engine for Revit Schedules. Share long schedules in PDF, Word or send to any printer. Supports advance features: titleblock, autosave, custom logo, font formatting, document location, page number, and many more."

Conductor – Trello Tools for Revit (and Rhino)

"Conductor is a Windows-based desktop application that brings agile task management and coordination into your modeling environment. The current version of Conductor allows users to connect  Revit and Rhino to Trello’s Kanban-style project management platform. Using Conductor, building teams are able to interact with Trello boards and manage tasks from start to finish from within the model."
