Leica Captivate for BIM 360 Docs

Leica Captivate is the surveying and mapping field software running on the latest generation of total stations and the field controllers manufactured by Leica Geosystems. Leica Captivate allows the user to capture and store data with the greatest accuracy and reliability, either measured with classical surveying methodologies such as the total station observations or the most modern GNSS observations, and visualize it in a complete 3D environment.

The user is able to easily capture a 3D dataset representing the current state of an area, and at the same time that the coordinates of the points are measured, define all the linework, geometries and features to properly represent the current reality, as kerbs, vegetation or road elements. These captured data are structured in jobs, which can be exported as reports or into different output formats like ASCII, XML or DXF to be later used in multiple office software packages.

Multiple design data of different construction sites and infrastructures can be loaded to be used within Leica Captivate in different formats, as DWG, DXF or IFC, to be then easily used in the field for the layout of their elements.

Leica Captivate supports not just the basic surveying, mapping and layout activities, but also a large number of specific apps developed for specific purposes, such as Scanning of point clouds, Volume calculations or Machine guidance control.

Family Names v2.0

From the Autodesk App Store:

Family Names has a simple yet intuitive design, you can rename families as simple as double clicking in the table and pressing save.

Family Names offers other features such as adding prefixes or suffices, find and replace.

You can easily change names from excel by saving the table in excel, changing the names there and importing the excel back in the app.
 
With family names you can also define rules to validate you desing names. You can also use a special composer designed to combine parameter values with the actual name so that naming is more suggestive.

Free Engipedia Topo Shaper – Shape Topography With Model Lines

From the Autodesk App Store:

The main purpose of the tool is to shape topography instance with the help of model lines. The tool adds additional topography points along selected model lines. Line division can be per number of points or per distance between points. If there is more than one topography instance, the tool will prompt you to select only one.

All model lines are supported: lines, arcs, ellipses, curves and nurbs. Make sure that the selected model lines are not closed loops, otherwise the tool will warn and ignore them. If there are closed loops (circles, ellipses) to be used, then they should be divided into 2 or more parts with Autodesk® Revit® Split Element tool.

Topography is a mesh object so points division should be thought carefully. More points do not mean better results.

An additional feature is saving current topography. The current state of topography can be saved into a CSV points file, and the original state can be returned later using Revit Massing & Site > Topo surface > Create from Import > Specify Points File tool. Saved topography points CSV file is always in Meters.

Tool can be run via Add-ins tab on Revit ribbon.

Free FBX Exporter

Find and Replace Text in Parameters

This tool is designed to find and replace text or parts of a text in parameters - whether it’s a built-in parameter or a shared parameter.

This tool only works for instance parameters, the storage type of the parameters must be text.

Copy/ Combine (Text Parameters)

This tool is designed to copy text parameters data between Autodesk® Revit® elements. It also can combine text parameter information from more than one parameter and join it in another text parameter additionally, and it can add separators between the combined text parameter data. The tool can also copy text parameters data between different Revit categories.

Parameters Text Case

The tool is designed to modify the text case for the parameter's text value in Revit.

This function will enhance working with text in Revit and it will help the user to change the text case for the “Parameters text value” to be Upper case, Lower case, Sentence case, and Title Case.
