Free ScrubIT – Delete Unneeded Views, Plus Recursive Purge

From the Autodesk App Store:

BIM Optimized ScrubIT app allows your Autodesk® Revit® -Power Users to quickly select views, legends, schedules, and sheets for removal. This includes an optional appended Purge that will cycle until all unused items have been purged. The result is the leanest file possible to then transmit to consultants.

You can expect these benefits from using ScrubIT:
  • Prevent over-sharing information.
  • Protect your company’s IP/information.
  • Lower file sizes for optimized storage and file transmission.
  • Improve the use & loading of your model by consultants.

Free Formwork for Concrete Structure

From the Autodesk App Store:

This app aims to give access to the formwork library for reinforced concrete structures. The app capabilities are limited with respect to inserting components in the model. The future updates will bring functionalities to automate the modeling process of these components on a reinforced concrete structure model.

Infraworks to Revit Interoperability Add-in from Autodesk – for Bridge and Tunnel Design

We posted about the new Infraworks to Revit Interoperability Add-in from Autodesk back in April. Details were non-existent at the time. Over on his BIM Chapters blog, Dan Stine posted about his exploration of the add-in.

From the BIM Chapters blog:

Infraworks to Revit add-in

Tuesday, May 15, 2018

Autodesk has a new add-in listed in the Autodesk Desktop App called Infraworks to Revit. Don't get too excited just yet, unless you design bridges/tunnels in Revit. I am sure this functionality will expand in the future, but right now this add-in just supports bridges and tunnels.

If you are not familiar with Infraworks, in a super simplistic sense, it is to Civil 3D what FormIt is to Revit. In reality, Infraworks is much more sophisticated and I have heard that Autodesk is putting more resources into developing this preliminary design tool, than Civil 3D itself (but I have no way of knowing this for sure). The Infraworks screenshot below shows an area created automatically just by selecting a region; with grade, aerial iamge, existing roads and bridges, and even 3D building where public GIS data is available. New surfaces, roads and bridges can easily be added. Then, the surfaces, roads, bridges can be pushed into Civil 3D for further refinement and documentation. Some Civil 3D elements can also be imported into Infraworks.

Using Revit for detailed design of bridges and tunnels in InfraWorks; this Revit add-in allows you... to make changes to a bridge or tunnel in InfraWorks, and push those changes to the existing Revit model for that bridge or tunnel. Autodesk Revit 2019 is required.

QuickElectrical

From the QuickMEP website:

IT ALL STARTS WITH BIM…

With the architectural community transitioning off of 2D plans, it is time to make things simpler on the engineering side of AEC. QuickElectrical simplifies the modeling and linework for electrical engineers. Get QuickMEP today and allow your engineers to focus on client relationships and custom challenges, while we handle parameters and connections within the model.

AUTOMATED LINEWORK

Building spatial information is pulled into a backend database along with electrical parameters of families within the model. Use this information to generate the electrical riser with the click of a button.

What's Hot in Revit Add-ons for July 2018

Here on Revit Add-ons, with What's Hot, at about the middle of each month, we take a look back at the preceding month to see which new posts received the most pageviews.

We published 19 posts in June 2018, a down month for us, and received 44,919 pageviews.

Our roundup of 5-star rated add-ins on the Autodesk App Store seemed to rate well with readers as it came in at #1. Landscape Terrain Modeler, Align v1.4.0, and Section View Aligner came in at #2, 3, and 5 respectively. Our roundup of new and updated add-ins on the Autodesk App Store from June 22 also charted, at #4.

Bird Tools' Tag Alignment Tool

From the Autodesk App Store:

The “Bird Tools Tag Alignment Tool” is an Autodesk® Revit® Add-in that aims to arrange Revit TAGS and TEXT NOTES that have been assigned leaders in a neat form, such that their “landing lines” are straight and that all of their leaders are parallel. It proves to be extremely useful in areas that are overpopulated with tags and text notes and thus helps the user move all the tags contained in the aforementioned area to another tag-free area with a single mouse click.
