Design Master Electrical RT v1.4

From the Autodesk App Store:

Design Master Electrical RT adds electrical calculations to Autodesk® Revit® MEP.

One-Line Riser Diagrams: Automatically generate one-line riser diagrams from your Revit model. Customize the graphics to match your existing one-line diagram. Keep your one-line diagram synchronized with the rest of your project as your design changes.

Feeder Sizing: Feeders are size automatically based upon the upstream overcurrent protection for a piece of electrical equipment. You have complete control of the chosen feeder size and can override it when necessary.

Branch Circuit Sizing: Branch circuit breakers and wire sizes are sized automatically based upon the connected load. You have complete control of the breaker and wire size and can override it when necessary.

Fault Calculations: Available fault current is calculated for each piece of electrical equipment. The calculated fault current can be used to set the AIC rating for the device.

Voltage Drop Calculations: The voltage drop is calculated between each piece of electrical equipment. Feeders that exceed the maximum 3% voltage drop allowed can be easily resized.

Arc-Flash Calculations: Arc-flash calculations are performed at each piece of electrical equipment. An arc-flash schedule can be created that displays the calculated values. Arc-flash warning labels can be printed to be put on devices in the field.

Design Master Electrical RT is available for purchase on our website for $400 / year.

Note: This app uses a custom installer (and not the standard App Store installer).

About This Version

Version 1.4.0, 7/18/2019

From the Design Master website:

The following is a list of new and updated features in Design Master Electrical RT 1.4.

Wire Length Make-up

The Feeder Make-up option has been expanded from a single project value. The additional make-up settings provide greater control of calculated wire lengths.

Wire length make-up is additional length added to calculated distances between devices.

Feeder Length Make-up: Each piece of distribution equipment can have a separate feeder length make-up assigned.

Branch Circuit Length Make-up: Branch circuits can now have make-up included in the calculated length. A default branch circuit make-up length can be set for the project. The branch circuit make-up length can be set for each circuit on a piece of distribution equipment. Finally, the branch circuit make-up length can also be set for each individual branch circuit.

Arc-Flash Calculation

The arc-flash calculation has been updated to use IEEE Std 1584-2018.

Branch Circuit Isolated Ground Wires

An isolated ground wire can be included on branch circuit devices. Any circuits that include a device with an isolated ground will include an isolated ground in the wire callout.

The isolated ground can be set in the family using the Family Edit command and on instances using the Instance Edit command.

Revit 2020

Revit 2020 is supported.

Feed Through Lugs: The new feed through lugs feature in Revit 2020 works with the one-line diagram created by Design Master Electrical.

To create a connection using feed through lugs, enable the Feed Through Lugs parameter in the upstream panel, then set the Connection Type for the downstream panel to Feed Through Lugs. The Lugs field for the upstream panel will be set to Feed Through.

To create a connection using top lugs, enable the Feed Through Lugs and SubFeed Lugs parameters in the upstream panel, then set the Connection Type for the downstream panel to Feed Through Lugs. The Lugs field for the upstream panel will be set to Double. Revit does not currently have a way to specify whether the connection uses the subfeed lugs. The software will assume that if the subfeed lugs exist, that is the connection type you intend to use.

Design Master Electrical RT is brought to you by Design Master Software. This is a trial version. Pricing is as follows.

This add-in is compatible with Revit 2020, 2019, 2018, and 2017.
